Audi India launch the facelifted Q7 with prices starting at Rs 79.99 lakhs

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today announced the launch of the iconic Audi Q7 in India in 2 variants. The Premium Plus variant starts at Rs 79.99 lakhs and the Technology variant starts at Rs 88.33 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The facelifted Audi Q7 is offered with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol with a 48V mild-hybrid system that produces a combined 340PS and 500 Nm. A 48-volt electrical system supplies enough power to the Belt Alternator Starter in the Mild Hybrid (BAS). When coasting, this mechanism allows the engine to be switched off for up to 40 seconds. Quattro all-wheel-drive helps the Audi accelerate from a standstill to 100kmph in just 5.9 seconds and will continue going till it reaches a top speed of 250kmph.

The new visage of the Audi Q7 is more aggressive. Matrix LED headlamps with signature daytime running lights and LED tail lamps with dynamic turn indicators allow clear visibility while driving. Unlike the horizontal ones before, the octagonal grille now has six upright slats and incorporates darker materials. The front air inlets have been redesigned to be considerably bigger and more angular, with grey accents.

For a sportier look, there are more grey accents on the lower part of the SUV. Similarly, the back receives a makeover. It now has a full-width chrome strip and is significantly flatter. These come together at the redesigned taillamps, which feature the Audi-exclusive partitioned LED components. The Audi Q7 sits on a new set of 19-inch alloys as well.

Audi has included features like adaptive air suspension, Audi drive select, park assist plus with a 360-degree-view camera, and lane departure warning to make driving more enjoyable.

The biggest change on the inside is the new twin-screen layout. A 10.1-inch screen at the top displays navigation and various other information, while the 8.6-inch display below displays air conditioning, favourites and shortcuts. Other features are four-zone climate control, soft-close doors, Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System, an air quality package and massage/heated/cooled seats. Saiga Beige and Okapi Brown are the 2 interior colours to choose from.

Commenting on the launch, Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said, "There is no better way to start the year than launching a car that has been an absolute favourite in India. The Audi Q7 has been an icon of our Q-range for several years and we are confident that the latest model will be as successful with its new look and upgraded features. The Audi Q7's versatile performance, both on and off the road, is a key trait that makes it stand apart from all others. The year 2022 will see the launch of high volume models, in addition to some top-end products. With a diverse product portfolio, we are looking forward to a strong sales performance during the year 2022. There is a lot to look forward to and today is just the beginning of another fantastic year for Audi India."

The 2022 Audi Q7 facelift SUV will take on rivals like the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Volvo XC90 and the Land Rover Discovery.
