Audi Q4 e-tron to get more power and extended range

For the 2024 model year, an improved version of the Audi Q4 e-tron will be available for sale in Europe. The crossover's powertrain and equipment list have been improved, and it is still available in regular and Sportback configurations.

2024 Audi Q4 e-tron: Powertrain

For 2024, a lithium-ion battery with a net energy capacity of 77 kWh (82 kWh gross) will be standard on all Q4 e-tron vehicles. The basic Q4 35 e-tron is no longer available, as the prior battery, which had a net capacity of 52 kWh (55 kWh gross), has been withdrawn.

Rear-wheel drive Q4 45 e-tron, which according to the WLTP cycle has a maximum range of 562 km in Sportback configuration, is currently the entry-level choice. The Q4 e-tron models also get newly designed electric motors that are more effective and potent in addition to the standardized battery. Current ratings for the RWD Q4 45 e-tron are 286 PS and a 0-100 kmph time of 6.7 seconds.

The Q4 45 e-tron Quattro has an additional electric motor for all-wheel drive as it moves up the range, but the overall system power is the same as the non-quattro vehicle. All Q4 e-tron's have a top speed restricted to 180 kmph

The Q4 55 e-tron quattro, which sits at the top of the lineup, has 340 PS, which is greater than the Q4 50 e-tron quattro's 299 PS. The additional grunt cuts the duration from 6.2 seconds to 5.4 seconds for 0-100 kmph acceleration.

It should be noted that as part of the upgrade, the DC charging capacity has been raised; RWD models can now support up to 135 kW, while AWD variants can manage 175 kW, which was previously limited to 125 kW. A 10-80 percent level of charge is attained under optimal circumstances in around 28 minutes.

2024 Audi Q4 e-tron: Interior and Features

The 2024 model year also features updated assistance systems, such as the assisted lane change in conjunction with the adaptive driving assistant for speeds above 90 kmph on highways. The suspension has also been retuned (for the standard suspension, sports suspension, or suspension with damper control).

The usual tools have also been modified. The navigation system, the 10.25-inch "Audi Virtual Cockpit" speedometer display, and the tailgate's electronic opening and closing are now standard features. While heated rear seats are still an additional option, heated front seats are standard.

The Q4 also gets a new optional "character sound" that will be played through two internal speakers in the back doors in addition to two exterior speakers at the back of the vehicle. Although the legally mandated low-speed sound for pedestrian safety will always be there, the sound changes depending on speed and may be turned off at any moment.

Audi India: EV Plans

Audi just recently launched the Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron for the Indian market. Also on offer is the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT but that's about where Audi's Indian EV portfolio ends. So we do expect the Q6 e-tron and Q4 e-tron to come to India in the near future.
