The face-lift on the Innova is quite refreshing and the new wrap around headlights and angular lower grill lend it a sporty look. The interiors of the Innova, when it was launched were quite impressive and now they have been spruced up even more. The dash of the top end variant will receive a touch screen, DVD display and integrated audio controls in the steering. The new Innova has a price range of Rs 9.4 lakh to 13.19 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.

The Fortuner now gets a 4x2 new 4-speed automatic transmission along with a 4x2 and a 4x4 manual. It too has received a new look front, though whether it improves on the looks of the old car is debatable. It does however subscribe to the Toyota look and now appears more like a direct family member than distant cousin. Interiors have also been refreshed with a new centre console that houses a touch screen DVD stereo (in the top end V variant) and features hands-free bluetooth mobile phone connectivity. The screen also displays the reverse camera's video input. Mock wood inserts are now of a darker grey shade while the centre console surrounds are brushed aluminium. The SUV also boasts of a new design instrument cluster that is bright and easier to read. The steering wheel is similar in design to the Corolla's and is a combination of mock wood and leather with mounted stereo controls. It will be priced at Rs 19.99 lakh for the 4x2 manual, Rs 20.69 lakh for the 4x2 automatic and Rs 20.99 lakh for the 4x4 manual.

Speaking at the launch Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, managing director, TKM, said "The Innova and Fortuner are very important vehicles in our Toyota line up and have played a very important role in the growth of sales and expansion of operations of Toyota in India. The Innova is based on Toyota's IMV platform â€" international innovative multipurpose vehicle - which is also used for the Fortuner. Toyota initiated the IMV project to achieve a global manufacturing and supply system for utility vehicles. Vehicles on this platform are manufactured by various plants of Toyota located in different countries and sold across the globe, resulting in economies of scale. With the new Innova and new Fortuner we will serve our customers better and enhance the ownership experience manifold. "
