Auto Expo 2020: Skoda Vision IN exterior design sketches revealed

Skoda India has unveiled the exterior design of the Vision IN SUV after the release of its interior design some time ago

The exterior sketches show the dynamic front with a wide bonnet, a large Skoda grille with solid ribs gives it a tall stance and shapes the visual impression. The headlights are very flat and progress directly to the grille. Beneath the headlights are large side air intakes and a massive front spoiler made of aluminium. Talking about the rear, it comes with sharply-contoured, three-dimensional rear lights. An additional horizontal light strip connects the reflector and an illuminated Skoda lettering is prominently positioned in the centre of the rear.

Skoda shared a glimpse of the interior of its compact SUV Skoda Vision IN earlier. The sketch shows a wide dashboard arranged on several levels with an extensively used orange colour throughout the interior. There is a large central touch screen which makes it look clean and feature-loaded. The chrome-plated ventilation on the sides looks premium, along with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.

The production version of the Vision IN could draw inspiration from the international-spec Kamiq and come with engines similar to that. This is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol with three cylinders and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with four cylinders. There will be no diesel variant of the SUV but a CNG variant can be expected to launch later.

As a part of the 'INDIA 2.0' project, Skoda auto is leading the activities of the Volkswagen group brands on the Indian sub-continent. Several Skoda and Volkswagen models will be created based on the MQB A0 IN variant of the Modular Transverse Matrix, which the Czech car manufacturer is developing with a focus on India. The new localized MQB A0 IN platform is being showcased for the first time in India through Skoda Vision IN.
