Auto Expo 2023: Lexus RX SUV unveiled with launch expected later this year
The Lexus RX SUV, which will be offered in two trim levelsâÂ"RX 350h Luxury and RX 500h F Sport PerformanceâÂ"was announced at the 2023 Auto Expo. Bookings for the RX SUV and its launch will take place before the end of March 2023.
With its angular lines and rounded curves, the Lexus RX seems sleek and contemporary overall. Large headlights with LED DRLs in the shape of arrows are placed on either side of the spindle grille, which reaches all the way to the chin spoiler.
It has linked LED taillights at the back that rest on a sculpted tailgate. Cooling vents and false vent-like trim components can be seen on the lower bumper trim piece of the rear bumper, which is located beneath the fenders.
The 2.5-litre turbocharged gasoline engine and CVT transmission that power the RX 350h Luxury provide 250PS when combined with the strong hybrid system. It has an option of two drivetrains, a front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive, with the former claiming to be able to go from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 8.1 seconds and the latter in 7.9 seconds, respectively.
The more powerful RX 500h F Sport Performance comes with a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 6-speed automated transmission. It has a robust hybrid system that can produce 370PS and 460 Nm of torque. It can go from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 6.2 seconds and has an all-wheel drive system as standard.
The infotainment system in the RX also features a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless charging and Apple CarPlay, although it only supports tethered Android Auto. Black, Dark Sepia, and Solis White are the three interior colour options offered by Lexus. Sumi Woodgrain and Medium Bamboo Brown are the two trim options. Additionally, the RX receives a panoramic sunroof.
When it goes on sale in March, the new Lexus RX will compete against the Mercedes GLC, BMW X3, Volvo XC60, and Audi Q5.
