Automobile events this week: October 8 - 14
There is so much happening in the world of automobiles. October 9: 2018 Honda CR-V launchEvent type: Product launch

What is it?
Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) is all set to bring in the new-gen CR-V SUV to India. The previous CR-V's biggest drawback was the absence of a diesel motor. The 2018 Honda CR-V, however, will get a diesel motor and that certainly should help boost sales. The new CR-V also gets all-wheel drive which should give it decent off-road ability. It has LED headlamps, LED taillamps, and new alloy wheels. The interior is refreshed as well and the seven-seater cabin is spacious.
October 10-14: 20th Raid de Himalaya

Location: Leh and Kargil
What is it?
This is this highest rally raid in the world and despite all the preparations, there was a slight delay in the event owing to inclement weather. But if high adrenaline rally action set amid the most serene vistas of the Himalayas catches your fancy, this is where you need to be. The 2018 edition is also the 20th year of the event. So plenty of celebrations will ensue as the Raid comes home.
October 10: 2018 Tata Tigor facelift launch

What is it?
The Tata Tigor facelift will be launched in the country on October 10. This will be a cosmetic update primarily and the mechanicals should continue to be the same as the current iteration. Last month, we broke the news that Tata is working on a minor facelift for the Tigor to keep the consumer interest levels high for its best-selling compact sedan, which competes with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Xcent.
October 11: Motoroyale India big announcement

What is it?
Motoroyale India, Kinetic Group's premium motorcycle division, has organised what it is calling a historic event. From what the invite suggests, we will be seeing the launch of the SWM Superdual T adventure tourer, the MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR, the FB Mondial HPS 300, the Norton Dominator, and the Hyosung Aquila Pro GV650. Some of these may not be product launches but announcements about the respective brands. Stay tuned to find out.
October 13-14: Ducati India's first edition of DRE Track Days

Location: Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida
What is it?
Ducati India has just announced that it will be hosting the first edition of its Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) Track Days in the country next month. The company is inviting Ducati motorcycle owners and non-owners for the track days. Participants will also get a chance to have a go at the Ducati Panigale V4, 959 Panigale, or the SuperSport for an additional charge. And if you must learn the skill of the track, no one better than Ducati test rider Alessandro Valia to lead you on.
Can I go?
Yes, you can! Participation will cost Ducati owners Rs 10,000 in addition to charges for riding the flagship Ducati motorcycles at the track. For non-Ducati riders with motorcycles of 600cc or above, the fees start at Rs 10,000 with two track sessions and two laps on a flagship motorcycle, instead of three each for the Ducatisti.
