Bajaj CNG bike launch tomorrow
Bajaj Auto will unveil its first CNG motorcycle in India, where Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, will be present for the inaugural ceremony. Ahead of its debut, the brand has revealed a couple of teasers on its social media handles. That said, this CNG-powered bike is expected to be available in a few variants.
The latest teaser of the Bajaj CNG motorcycle shows the switchgear, which has a blue button to switch between CNG and petrol similar to what we see in the CNG-powered cars. This confirms that it will feature a traditional fuel tank and a CNG tank.
The CNG motorcycle is likely to have a retro-inspired and commuter-friendly design. Key highlights may include a round LED headlight, a flat single-piece seat, halogen indicators, a part-analogue or fully digital console with CNG-specific readouts, telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, and a single front disc. Bajaj might well offer it with a single-channel ABS.
While the details about the engine specifications are scarce at the moment, the Bajaj CNG bike could get a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled unit with slightly different power outputs for petrol and CNG modes. This motor is expected to be paired with a five-speed gearbox.
The new Bajaj CNG motorcycle is likely to be an economical offering, priced between Rs 90,000 and Rs 1.20 lakh. Since it will be the first-of-its-kind, there will be no direct rivals. But it will take on the closest competitors.
