BMW India appoints Vikram Pawah as the new president
The German luxury car manufacturer has appointed Vikram Pawah as the president of BMW Group India along with his present role as Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand. The appointment will take effect on August 1, 2020. Vikram has been with the BMW Group since 2017, he joined the BMW Group India as the president and in 2018 he was appointed as the chief executive officer of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand.
The decision has been taken after the sudden demise of Rudratej Singh in April, who was the president and chief executive officer. Since then, Arlindo Teixeira, Chief Financial Officer has been carrying out the role as acting President.
Hendrik von Kuenheim, senior vice president of Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa at BMW Group said, "Under the leadership of Vikram Pawah, BMW Group has successfully stood ground in a fiercely competitive environment and gained significant momentum in both Indian and Australian luxury car markets. The company has set its sight firmly on the premium sector of the Indian automobile market with BMW, MINI and Motorrad. The group's business operation activities in India include a manufacturing plant in Chennai, a parts warehouse in Mumbai, a training centre in Gurgaon NCR and dealerships across major metropolitan centres across the country.
