BMW India launch the iX electric SUV at Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom)
BMW has introduced its first-ever all-electric luxury car, the BMW iX, in India today. The BMW iX xDrive40 will be available as a completely built-up unit (CBU) for an initial price of Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom).
With its strong appearance, the BMW iX's front quickly attracts focus. It has a blacked-out BMW kidney grille flanked by slim LED headlights with dual-beam looks. Blue highlights on the front bumper emphasise the SUV's all-electric capabilities.
Sporty alloy wheels, black side body cladding with blue accents and a black glass section are all available on the BMW iX. Sleek LED taillights, a stylish roof spoiler, and a black bumper with blue accents are also featured on the rear profile. The SUV has a sloping roof that contributes to its elegance.
The all-electric SUV comes in two models: xDrive 40 and xDrive 50. The BMW iX xDrive 40 produces 330PS and 630 Nm of peak torque and has a range of up to 414 kilometres on a single charge. The xDrive 50, on the other hand, produces 520PS and 765 Nm of peak torque, with a range of 611 kilometres between charges.
The BMW iX comes with a standard two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty. The batteries come with a warranty that lasts for eight years or 160,000 kilometres.
On the inside of the BMW iX, there's a freestanding BMW Curved Display with navigation, a 12.3-inch digital information display behind the steering wheel, a 14.9-inch Control Display and a BMW head-up display are all part of the BMW cockpit. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included. The BMW iX has an 18-speaker Harman Kardon Surround Sound System. Soft-touch buttons and scroller wheels are included on the multifunction steering wheel.
A central console with touchpads instead of buttons, luxury leather seat and upholstery materials are some of the other design aspects and features of the all-new BMW iX. Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, and Sophisto Grey are the colours offered for the BMW iX. It's also available in a BMW Individual Aventurine Red metallic paint treatment as an option.
The BMW iX also comes with a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and will take on the likes of the Porsche Taycan, Mercedes-Benz EQC and Audi e-tron in India. With an introductory price of Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom), deliveries are expected to begin in April 2022
