BMW Motorrad launches first promotional video for G310R

The BMW G310R is one of the most anticipated bikes set to hit Indian shores in the near future. The G310R has been developed under the newly formed BMW-TVS partnership, where the BMW Motorrad is leading the development and TVS is taking care of the manufacturing. The bike will be BMW's first foray into the sub-500cc segment, planning to take on the likes of the KTM Duke 390 and the Mahindra Mojo. The G310R will also mark BMW Motorrad's entry into the Indian market, with new showrooms set to open shop. BMW has now released the first promotional video of the upcoming G310R.

In the video, BMW has decided to take the route of the emotional bond people have with their bikes. BMW starts off by stating, "People have cars because you need a car to get places. You don't need a bike, [and] people have bikes because they love bikes." Bold statement! Take a look at the new BMW G310R commercial here:

With a wet weight of 159kg, the BMW G310R is powered by a single-cylinder 313cc water-cooled engine, producing 34PS at 9,500rpm and 28Nm of 7,500rpm. This gives the G310R a top speed of 145kmph. TVS will also be releasing its own track-oriented bike called the Akula 310, first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The TVS Akula 310 is based on the same platform as that of the BMW G310R. The BMW G310R is expected to be launched during Diwali, so expect to see the TVS Akula 310 to go on sale around January 2017. The BMW G310R will be sold exclusively at the BMW Motorrad dealerships, while the Akula 310 will be sold at TVS showrooms in the country.
