BMW updates its model line-up for 2024

BMW has updated its model line-up for summer 2024, introducing new drive systems, additional standard and optional equipment, and enhanced digital services. All new models are set to enter production in July 2024.

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, X1 & X2

To begin with, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, X1, and X2 will gain a new drive system variant in July 2024. Each model will also come with the Parking Assistant Professional function, which enables automated parking via a smartphone, while vehicles equipped with BMW OS 8.5 or 9 will benefit from a host of of in-car gaming options and My Modes. Additionally, the Intelligent Personal Assistant will now support more languages and the charging station search function for electrified models has been improved, both in-car and via the My BMW App.

BMW will offer a third diesel engine for the 2 Series Active Tourer. The new 220d Active Tourer will come powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine paired with 48V mild hybrid functionality. This powertain produces 163PS and 400Nm of torque. This engine, also used in the X1, will now be available in a front-wheel-drive configuration for both the X1 and X2, accelerating from zero to 100kmph in 8.5 seconds and providing a top speed of 210kmph.

From summer 2024, the standard equipment for the 2 Series Active Tourer, X1, and X2 will include seat heating for the driver and front passenger, M High-gloss Shadow Line trim, and the option of using an eSIM. In addition, the Innovation package will offer the Driving Assistant, and the Comfort package will offer active seats and powered seat adjustment with a memory function.

BMW X5, X6 & XM

Going forward, from summer 2024, the X5 and X6 will include the Driving Assistant system as standard, including Lane Change Warning, rear-crossing traffic warning, and exit warning. The optional Innovation package will include the Driving Assistant Professional.

Moreover, the high-performance XM Label Red will offer new exterior paint schemes and leather trim options. The XM range will offer new customisation options, including 23-inch M alloy wheels and nine additional exterior colours for the XM Label Red as well as interior options will include BMW Individual Merino Leather in two colour choices.

Updated BMW iDrive System

The BMW iDrive system with QuickSelect will receive further enhancements, such as OS 9 will support communication in Polish and Dutch, while Swedish will be added to OS 8.5. BMW will also provide a range of games via the AirConsole platform, while a new Silent Mode will be offered for select models. The BMW Maps navigation system will provide better information on parking and rest areas, as well as charging stations for electric and plug-in hybrid models, says the brand.
