Brabus upgrades the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
German tuning house, Brabus, has created a set of upgrades for the 2014Â Mercedes-Benz S-Class, giving the car aerodynamic tweaks and a number of performance enhancements.
Brabus is known for tweaking already powerful Mercedes-Benz machines into mega-powered cars. This time it has come up with three custom plug-and-play packages: the B50S for the S550 and the B63 and B63S for the S63 AMG.
On the S550, the B50S ECU gives an extra 65PS, pushing the power output of the V8 biturbo engine from 455PS to 520 PS and torque from 700 Nm to 820Nm.
The S63 AMG is already a powerhouse and Brabus manages to better it with the Brabus B63 PowerXtra CGI package. It delivers 650PS and 1000Nm of torque.
But for those who can't be satisfied by anything less than heart-stopping speed, in this case 325kmph, there is the top-of-the-line B63S package.
It gets gold heat reflection coating for the intake and charge-air pipes, two custom Brabus turbochargers with larger compression units, a low-temperature water radiator for the intercooling system, a free-flow exhaust system with metal catalysts and 75mm thick downpipes as well as a custom ECU mapping. Power delivered is a massive 730PS with an eye-watering 1065Nm of torque.
Other Brabus add-ons include a sports exhaust system with controlled butterfly valve, Monoblock alloy wheels and Active Body Control suspension.
