BS6.2-compliant Renault Kiger and Triber AMT deliveries commenced in India
Renault India has commenced the deliveries of the BS6 phase-2 compliant Kiger AMT and Triber AMT in India. While the former comes with a price tag of Rs 8.47 lakh, the latter costs Rs 8.12 lakh (both ex-showroom). Above all, under its Human First Program, the automaker now offers several new safety features across its product line-up.
The Kiger is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72PS and 96Nm of torque and a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor that makes 100PS and 160Nm of torque (152Nm with CVT). Transmission options include a five-speed manual, an AMT and a CVT automatic. Whereas, the Triber gets a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72PS and 96Nm of torque. It can be paired with a five-speed manual or an AMT transmission.
The BS6.2-compliant Renault Kiger and Triber: New featuresAs a part of its Human First Program, the Kiger and Triber comes equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Traction Control System (TCS), and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
The BS6.2-compliant Renault Kiger and Triber: Prices and Rivals
The prices of the Kiger start from Rs 6.50 lakh and go up to Rs 1.12 lakh (ex-showroom). Whereas, the prices of the Triber range between Rs 6.33 lakh and Rs 8.97 lakh (ex-showroom). The Renault Kiger takes on the likes of the Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, and Kia Sonet. The Triber compete against the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Maruti Suzuki Swift.
