BYD Seal: Variants explained

BYD has introduced the Seal sedan in India with prices starting at Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric sedan is now available in three variants: Dynamic, Premium, and Performance across four paint schemes. It comes in a choice of two battery packs and three drivetrain options.

The India-spec Seal EV gets two battery pack options: 61.44kWh and 82.56kWh. In addition, there are three powertrain options to choose from, firstly entry-level variant gets the 61.44kWh unit paired with a rear-wheel drive (RWD) motor that produces 204PS and 310Nm of torque, while the mid-spec trim comes with a larger battery pack with the same RWD motor that puts down 313PS and 360Nm of toque. The top-spec variant of the Seal features a dual-motor setup coupled to the 82.56kWh battery pack makes a hefty 530PS and 670Nm of torque.
