BYD Sealion 7 to be unveiled at Bharat Mobility Expo

BYD is set to launch a new model in India in the coming months. The Sealion 7 SUV has been on the cards for a while now and the Chinese manufacturer is all set to debut the car in India at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The Sealion 7 EV has been on sale in some overseas markets for a while now and will soon be available in India alongside the existing Seal sedan, Atto 3 SUV and eMax 7 MPV.

The Sealion 7 coupe-SUV is powered by BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo-born electric architecture and equipped with the brand's cutting-edge Blade battery setup. The Sealion 7 is available in two different battery configurations: 82.5 kWh and 91.3 kWh. The former is available in both RWD and AWD versions with a claimed range of 482 km and 456 km respectively. The bigger battery pack is only available with the AWD configuration and has a 502 km (WLTP) range on a single charge.

The BYD Seal shares much of its design cues with the Sealion SUV. It boasts the distinctive BYD front fascia, which includes flared wheel arches with black cladding and sweptback LED headlights with LED DRLs. The Sealion 7 has a two-tone rear bumper, a roof spoiler, and wraparound LED taillights that are joined by an LED light bar.

The BYD Sealion 7's interior is quite luxurious much like the Seal EV. Features include a massive 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen, 4-spoke steering wheel, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, vehicle-to-load (V2L), a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, 9-airbags, a 360-degree camera and a whole list of ADAS features.

The Sealion 7 will is expected to be officially launched in India only in March and will be the brand's flagship model with prices set to begin around the Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
