Car Sales January 2021: Hyundai Motor India registers over 23 percent YoY growth
Hyundai Motor India has sold 52,005 cars domestically in India in the past month of January 2021. Alongside this, the country's second-largest carmaker also exported 8,100 units, continuing its position as the largest exporter of cars from India. These production numbers have let the Korean carmaker achieve strong growth, with domestic sales growing a significant 23.8 per cent over January 2020. Cumulative, the registered sales growth is 15.6 per cent.
The strong growth has come from continued demand for Hyundai's newer offerings like the Hyundai Creta, Hyundai i20 and the facelifted Hyundai Verna. The company is now the largest seller of SUVs in India and these figures come after Hyundai achieved its highest-ever December sales figures.
Speaking on the company's performance, "HMIL has made a strong beginning to the CY21 by registering a high double-digit growth in the month of January. The growth momentum has been achieved on account of great customer pull for our most innovative recently launched products like the new Creta, new Verna and the new i20 showcasing brand supremacy in their respective segments. We are happy to see that the Hyundai Brand in India has become a strong expression of world-class technology and services thereby redefining the driving and ownership experience for our beloved customers. We stand committed to further strengthen India's economy and society as a responsible corporate citizen."
