Car sales June 2021: Kia India retails 15,015 units registering 36 per cent MoM growth
Kia India stepped into the Indian market in the year 2020 with the Seltos and it's been the best-selling model since then. However, the sales of the Seltos jostled after the arrival of its sibling, the Hyundai Creta. In June 2021, Kia India registered 15,015 units that comprised 8,549 units of the Seltos, 5,963 units of the Sonet and 503 units of the Carnival. In the period of January-June 2021, Kia India sold close to 1,00,000 cars out of which, Seltos accounts for 50 per cent of total sales.Â
Commenting on the sales performance, Mr Tae-Jin Park, Chief of Sales and Business strategy, Kia India said, "The last few weeks have shown signs of improved customer sentiment, and we continue to be optimistic about the future. The brand stays focused on providing the highest level of personalised customer experience and plans to strengthen the digital ecosystem with industry-first initiatives like Digi-connect. We, however, remain cognizant of the ongoing situation and are reviewing our operations week-on-week, evaluating measures to meet the demand for our vehicles."
Kia India recently announced its new brand logo, name and tagline. Along with the new logo, the Korean carmaker also rejigged the variants of the Seltos and Sonet and expanded the safety net to lower variants as well. The Seltos also received the iMT transmission option with the 1.5-litre MPI petrol engine. Kia Seltos is offered with 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.4-litre T-GDI petrol engine options along with a slew of transmission options. The range of the Kia Seltos starts from Rs 9.95 lakh and goes to Rs 17.65 lakh ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai.
