Car Sales November 2020: MG Motor India record highest ever monthly sales
MG Motor India has sold 4,163 of its cars to retail customers in November 2020. This is a significant 28.5 per cent growth over last year, and is also the highest ever monthly sales the brand has achieved since launch.
The big driver behind this has been the MG Hector SUV, which recorded retail sales of 3,426 units the past month. This is the second-highest monthly sales for the SUV since its debut and is a 6 per cent growth over last year. MG Motor India also received 4,000 new orders for the Hector last month. The Gloster has been the next big success for MG Motor India. The 4x4 SUV sold 627 units in its first month of being on sale. The Gloster has received over 2,500 bookings since its launch. The MG S EV sold 110 units in November.
Prices for the big, three-row Gloster SUV start from Rs 28.98 lakh for the Super, going up to Rs 35.38 lakh for the top Savvy variant. Powering it is a 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine that makes 218PS at 4000 rpm and 480 Nm at 1,500-2,400rpm. The motor pairs with an eight-speed torque-converter gearbox. Off-roading gear includes an on-demand four-wheel-drive system, a rear differential locker and a BorgWarner transfer case.
The MG Gloster's USP is the advanced driver assistance systems it packs. Available in the top Savvy trim, this includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, front collision warning, autonomous emergency braking
and an auto park assist.
