Citroen C3-based 7-seater spied ahead of 2023 debut
Spy images of a new seven-seater SUV that seems to be based on the Citroen C3 hatchback have emerged. This model appears to be the third model to come from this family of cars after the C3 EV and the SUV based on the C3.
Citroen C3 7-seater stylingThese spy images show that this new seven-seater will be closely based on the Citroen C3 but still gets some notable changes to differentiate it. There seems to be a new grill design but the sheet metal and the light clusters in the front seem to be carried over from the C3. The changes in profile are more apparent. There is more ground clearance and larger 17-inch wheels and the space aft of the C-pillar has been stretched to include a larger quarter glass.
At the rear there is a more upright boot, possibly to free up more interior room, while the light clusters and windscreen and bumpers seem to be carried over from the C3.
Citroen C3 7-seater interior, featuresThe spy shots show that the extended rear section will hold an added pair of seats over the Citroen C3. The dashboard and other elements seem to have been carried over from the Citroen C3. But there should be more features like a reversing camera, powered mirrors, rear defogger and washer/wiper among other things.
The Citroen C3 is already a large car and there should be enough space for five adults and two children at least in the third row. There should be some changes in terms of the second row using a flip-down mechanism to enter the third row.
Citroen C3 7-seater engine, specificationsWe expect the Citroen C3 to get the same powertrains as the Citroen C3 hatchback. The Citroen C3's base engine is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol motor that puts out 82PS and 118 Nm. This pairs with only a five-speed manual and returns 19.8 kmpl.
The other engine option is a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol that pairs with a six-speed manual and makes 110PS and 190 Nm. The C3 turbo has a mileage of 19.4 kmpl. The Citroen C3 is expected to get an automatic gearbox by next year and that should carry over to this larger car too.
Citroen C3 7-seater expected price, launch date, rivalsThe Citroen 7-seater should come at a Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh premium over the C3 hatch. The Citroen C3 is priced between Rs 5.7 lakh going up to Rs 8.05 lakh. This seven-seater should compete with the likes of the Renault Triber and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The Citroen C3 based seven-seater should debut in India by early 2023
