Coronavirus impact: Jawa resumes dealership operations

As the government eases up on the lockdown in a phased manner, the automotive industry is also slowly getting back in the saddle. Many manufacturers have resumed their dealerships, service centres and plant facilities while adhering to the safety guidelines laid out by the government. Jawa Motorcycles had resumed the operations of their retail outlets on May 9, 2020.

The company announced their reboot on their twitter social media handle along with a list of seven safety protocols that will be followed by all the retail outlets. This includes basic sanitisation of display vehicles, service centres, dealerships and test ride vehicles.

All the visitors and employees will go through thermal screening to keep a check on the body temperature. Customers will be encouraged to visit the dealerships on an appointment basis so that the social distancing norms are still adhered to. The paperwork and other formalities will be digitised and the company will offer doorstep delivery of new motorcycles and test rides.

The current fleet has three products on offer, the Jawa, 42 and the Perak. The Perak was already BSVI compliant when it was launched in November 2019. The BSVI Jawa costs Rs 1.73 lakh ex-showroom and the 42 is for Rs 1.60 lakh ex-showroom.
