Coronavirus impact: Modified Royal Enfield bikes disinfect roads in Tamil Nadu
The Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services department (TNFRS) has been given 25 Royal Enfield motorcycles by the state government to disinfect tricky areas like narrow lanes and streets of the state.
A 9-litre tank has been integrated on the bikes that stores a combination of water and compressed air foam solution. The bikes also get police strobe lights and sirens so that the fleet carries its functions without any hindrance of the public. The bikes also receive a communication system so that the members of the fleet are in complete sync with each other.
The bikes are capable of disinfecting local areas on the move, this includes over 45,000 locations in the state like markets, hospitals and other places that are prone to the gathering of large groups of people. These bikes will also be used for fire-fighting operations in the future.
