Datsun GO: How will the Rs 4 lakh car look on the inside?
For a car that is likely to be priced under Rs 4 lakh, Datsun GO does have some remarkable interiors. The dashboard bears a mobile dock holder with USB compatibility. This look like a top-end version with manual AC, front power windows and power steering. The central console is minimal with just a speedometer.
The most noticeable feature perhaps is the handbrakes. The cable-pulling brakes seen in the 90s, but completely out of fashion now, seem to be making a comeback with Datsun GO.
There seems to be a lot of parts sharing with Nissan products like the circular AC vents, the inner door handles and power window switches.
The two tone interior cuts back on costs with the plastic quality and an open glove box.
Seats have integrated headrests and the car is spacious, enough for seating five comfortably.
The location of the lever on the front console and the bench seats up front creates added luggage space between the driver and the passenger where a conventional handbrake should've been.
In India, it may tempt families to utilise this added space for a younger passenger. There are, however, no seat belts provided for this space, and should be used strictly for luggage purposes only. Datsun GO will be launched next year in India. It is powered by a 1.2 litre inline-3 engine with a 5-speed manual transmission.Â
