Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono launched: Top highlights
Italian marque Ducati has introduced the all-new Hypermotard 698 Mono in India. The world's most-powerful single-cylinder motorcycle comes with a sticker price of Rs 16.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Customer deliveries will start by the end of this month. It is interesting to note that, the Suzuki Hayabusa costs Rs 16.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Kawasaki ZX-10R is priced at Rs 16.79 lakh (ex-showroom). They are both four-cylinder litre-class models.
Nevertheless, coming back to the Hypermotard 698 Mono, Ducati has equipped this motorcycle with a 659cc, liquid-cooled Superquadro Mono engine with Desmo valve system. It makes 77.5PS at 9,750rpm and 63Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. With a track-only Termignoni exhaust, the engine can generate 84.5PS and is capable of revving as high as 10,250rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Ducati Hypermotard 698: FeaturesThe Hypermotard 698 Mono comes with a steel trellis frame, a steel-tube subframe, and an aluminium swingarm. Additionally, there is a pair of Marzocchi upside down front forks, a rear monoshock, Brembo M4.32 front calliper with a 330mm disc, 245mm single rear disc, and 17-inch tyres at both ends.
Ducati Hypermotard 698: Specifications
Ducati has given it ride-by-wire, slipper clutch, 3.8-inch LCD display, three power modes, cornering ABS, wheelie control, traction control, and four ride modes. Customers can also opt for a quickshifter as an optional extra. Meanwhile, the Hypermotard 698 Mono weighs 151kg without fuel.
