Entry-level BMW X7 xDrive30d DPE launched in India at Rs 92.5 lakh

BMW India has launched a new entry-level version of its flagship BMW X7 SUV. This version is called the BMW X7  xDrive30d DPE and is priced at Rs 92.5 lakh, ex-showroom. This is Rs 6.40 lakh less than the earlier xDrive30d DPE Signature variant. The xDrive30d DPE Signature and xDrive40i M Sport trims continue to be available by have seen their prices go up a bit, now costing Rs 1.03 crore and Rs 1.07 crore respectively. Both versions were earlier priced at Rs 98.90 lakh. Also, the X7 line-up is now being brought in as a CKD, and not as a CBU like earlier. The price increase is due to BSVI compliance and added features.

The xDrive30d uses a 2,993 cc, six-cylinder in-line diesel engine and puts out 265PS at 4,000 rpm and 620 Nm at 2,000 â€" 2,500 rpm. BMW claims this version of the X7 can get from 0 to 100 kmph in 7s and go on to a 227 kmph top-speed. The petrol has a 2,998 cc motor with 340PS at 5,500 â€" 6,500 rpm and 450 Nm at 1,500 â€" 5,200 rpm. This gets the SUV from 0 to 100 kmph in  6.1s and goes on to 245 kmph.

The BMW X7 competes with the likes of the Range Rover, the Volvo XC90, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLS  and Audi Q8, and the Porsche Cayenne.

Notable features available on the new xDrive30d DPE include LED headlamps, four-zone climate control, powered front seats, powered rear sunshades, a digital instrument cluster, rear parking camera, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay, air suspension and launch control. This version is available as a seven-seater.

The six-seater DPE Signature variant adds kit like BMW's Laser headlamps, five-zone climate control, rear seat touchscreens, the Sky Lounge panoramic sunroof, soft-close doors, a 14 speaker Harman Kardon sound system and a 360-degree parking camera. Newly added amenities are heated and ventilated front seats. New to the xDrive40i M Sport trim is  active cruise control with stop-go, a head-up display and a six-seater layout. It also comes with an M Sport exterior styling package, M leather steering wheel, M Sport brakes, 21-inch M light alloy wheels and the Carbon Black exterior paint option.
