Fast and Furious 9: Cars and motorcycles to expect in the Fast Saga
Fast and Furious 9 is all set for a release in India on May 22, 2020. The movie is months away, but the makers will drop the trailer tomorrow on January 31.
While the trailer is awaited keenly, the filmmakers in the meanwhile, have been teasing us with glimpses of the muscle cars, exotics, off-roaders and custom dirt bikes that will share screen space with the stars.
Here's taking a look at the cast and the clapped-out machines their characters get speeding on within the movie.
Dodge Charger 500 - Dominic Toretto, Vin Diesel
The last time Dom drove a tuner (Mazda RX-7 and the Honda Civic) was almost two decades ago in the first The Fast and The Furious (2001). But since then, the lead star has been associated with muscle cars. And this time around, Dominic Torretto will be behind the wheel of the Dodge Charger 500.
Jeep Rubicon - Roman Pearce, Tyrese Gibson
Been a part of the Fast and Furious series since the second movie, 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), where Roman was seen racing on the streets of Miami. Since then, Roman Pearce has been seen driving a number of cars over the sequels ranging from BMW M5 to 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback and 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR to Lamborghini Murcielago. But this time, the Jeep Rubicon standing behind him hints there will be less on-road and more off-road action.
Noble M600 - Ramsey, Nathalie Emmanuel
She came on board in a tragic way but humbly became a part of the team. Nathalie Emmanuel a.k.a Ramsey is one of the two tech guys of the team and was last seen in The Fate of the Furious co-piloting the Rally Fighter with Letty Ortiz. But this time, Ramsey could take matters in her own hands and could be seen driving the Noble M600.
Yamaha YZ450F - Letty Ortiz, Michelle Rodriguez
While we still remember her from the days of stealing DVD players and Oil tankers ("Liquid Gold"), Letty's hand-to-hand combat in the recent sequels only speaks volumes about how much this street-smart character has evolved. And now, Letty Ortiz alongside a Yamaha YZ450F only promises more off-road battles that we cannot wait for.
Honda NSX - Tej Parker, Ludacris
From running a garage in Miami to hacking into 'God's Eye' in the Middle East, Tej Parker has been an integral part of the team providing them with the support they need via state-of-the-art gadgets, machinery and equipment. And for the ninth instalment of the movie, Tej will be seen driving the Honda (Acura) NSX.
1974 Chevrolet Chevelle SS - Mia Toretto/O'Conner, Jordana Brewster
Seen driving the Tuners and Muscles in the past, Mia has very well lived up to the Toretto and O'Conner name in the series - boosting 1966 Ford GT40 from a running train to pulling down a plane tied to a 2010 Alfa Romeo Giulietta 940. And in Fast and Furious 9, Mrs O'Conner is leaning on a 1974 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, being a classic Toretto I say.
Ford Mustang GT350 - John Cena
After looping in The Rock (Dwayne Johnson), Jason Statham and Helen Mirren in the series, now we expect John Cena to be stealing some of the cast's screen time. Driving a Ford Mustang GT350 with a rather intense expression or should we call it sporting an angry look, Cena's character could mean business.
Currently, the production house has only given us a tip-off as to what cars, SUVs and motorcycles to expect and we can only find out more when the trailer drops out tomorrow. While this one's only a list of what the protagonists will be driving, we expect to see the antagonists with some cool wicked road machines too.
