Hello MG Comet - Latest EV in the OD Garage
There's a popular saying all good things come in small packages & I'm hoping the MG Comet is exactly that. I am all for super compact hatchbacks & at 2.9m in length, it slices through urban traffic effortlessly. The acceleration is so brisk that it surprises not just an unsuspecting passenger but onlookers as well.
Ever since the Comet arrived in my society I've become super popular with my neighbours and strangers on the street. Everyone has a question or statement to make about the car - how much does it cost? Is it a 2-seater? No way! Can seat 4 passengers? Just 2 doors! Boot space? You get the drift.
While styling is a personal preference, I'm all for the quirky design with a stubby nose cause it allows a 4.2m turning radius which means I can turn this car around absolutely anywhere, in the tightest of spaces! It's a tall boy with a lot of glass house which might make you feel a bit self-conscious at first but you start enjoying the slightly SUVish feel (in terms of height only) while driving pretty soon.
Of course, given it does not offer a fast-charging option I need to plan my daily commute carefully & circle the charging dates on my calendar. To date, I've charged the car twice and have an estimated driving range of 200 km which depletes approximately 13 percent of the charge & 26 km range used up daily. Electric cars are always an adventure so looking forward to more in the coming weeks!
P.S. -This car was also a super fun chariot for a bachelorette party.
