May 2013 issue is out on stands now
That time of the month when our latest issue hits the stands has arrived. And just like the month before, we have a truckload of exclusives, reviews, comparos and features to fuel your need for speed for all of May.
Starting things this month is Halley with the road test of the Honda Amaze diesel in India. Based on the Brio hatchback, the Amaze is Honda's first entry-level diesel sedan and like the first drive in Japan confirmed, we were impressed with the fuel efficiency numbers that this 'micro limousine' whips out. A complete package is what Halley calls it. But is it better than the current chartbuster, the Dzire? What better way to judge than to put the two against each other. Will the Amaze go for the kill or Dzire retain its crown? Check the issue to know more.
Jaguar Land Rover recently launched the 2013 Range Rover in India and Bert set out to test the range topping V8 Autobiography. Bert also drives the new-for-India Audi R8 V10 Plus at the world-class Buddh International Circuit. Rishaad also gets to test the slightly less-powerful R8 V10 in India. He feels that it is not only gorgeous but is also an everyday-usable sportscar. Rishaad also went to Dubai to sample the India-bound Porsche Cayman and feels that the car has now carved its unique niche now. Ashok revisited motorsports from the 80s when he drove a rally-spec Premier 118NE.
The Honda CR-V has dozens of competitors but being only petrol-powered and being pegged at a new price point gives it a new rival, the B-Class. Alan took the two to Rishikesh to decide which one is more comfortable for the long haul and in the process, also tests the CR-V. With added oomph, the Toyota Etios Liva Sportivo is the new hot hatch in town and Rishaad takes it for a slightly longer drive. Meanwhile in Europe, our contributing editor Ray Hutton drives the hot new Mercedes-Benz CLA.
If you were wondering why there are no motorcycle stories, then here they are. We tested the recently CKD'd Fat Boy and Heritage Softail Classic. The TVS Wego gets a disc brake as option now and we pit it against the only-other till-now disc brake equipped scooter, the Honda Aviator. The Ninja 250R replacement, the 300 is here and Abhay gets his hands on it for a full road test. Shumi in the meanwhile gets astride an old 1978 Honda CD125ST.
That's not all. We have all the happenings from the automobile sector and also the latest information from international and Indian motorsports. We also have a treasure trove of news from the motorcycle world. So what are you waiting for? Go, grab your copy today.
