TVS Victor 110 long term review: After 11 months and 2,747km
The last month and a half has been one of the busiest times in the office. I've been testing a plethora of cars and was away in Kaza for our mega SUV comparison for a little over two weeks. That meant my TVS Victor was lying stationary for most of the time since the last report. Did I miss riding the Victor while I was away? Surprisingly, yes.
I'm no fan of commuter motorcycles; however, the Victor is the only motorcycle of its kind that I grew a liking towards, and 2,747km down the road, I have to say the Victor will never be forgotten. So, what clicked?
Firstly, it's the way it looks. I've yet to come across a commuter that looks so stylish and then there's the awesome build quality. The way the panels sit flush and the paint gleams in the sun to the way the switchgear works as if from a bigger machine, it all instantly made me feel good about the bike.
Other aspects that I loved during my term with the Victor were the excellent engine and nimble handling characteristics. I still remember the days on which, after a tiring day at work, the Victor made life easy by offering a stress-free commute back home. The engine's sufficient poke allowed me to slice through traffic, and the powerful disc brake ensured I could stop even at the last minute and live to tell the tale.
On occasion, I took my wife out for short rides around town and we both appreciated the vehicle's comfortable seat. It's the thoughtfulness of the entire package that makes the Victor such an endearing motorcycle to own.
As the low mileage may suggest, I used the bike solely to commute to office, but for all the time the bike's been with me, reliability was never an issue. I'm also happy with TVS' service experience.
It's been a good 11 months with the Victor and I have nothing to complain about. It's a commuter that stands head and shoulders above any other bike in its segment or even one above. Which explains why it was a seriously close contender to win our Motorcycle of the Year Award. That's saying a lot now, right?
