Fiat launches 500L Trekking in UK
The Fiat 500 cache of cars has grown significantly over the years. Now, Fiat has introduced another addition to its 500 line, the Fiat 500L Trekking in UK.
The Trekking has four engines, two petrol and two diesel. The 0.9 TwinAir Turbo 105PS and 1.4 95PS FIRE engine make up the petrol pair. Fiat's clever MultiJet II technology appears in 1.3-litre 85PS and 1.6-litre 105PS diesel formats.
The front-wheel-drive Trekking gets rugged bumpers, side skirts and moldings, air intakes, a skid plate, fog lights, 17" diamond-finish alloy wheels with Mud and Snow tyres, tweaked suspension with a 13mm higher ride height, privacy glass, seat upholstery with 'eco leather' inserts, a Traction+ system and City Brake Control as standard equipment and features.
City Brake Control (CBC) automatically applies the brakes between 5kmph and 30kmph to help avoid low-speed collisions or reduce impact otherwise. On the other hand, Traction+ is activated by a button at speeds of up to 30kmph and it electronically acts like a self-locking electromechanical differential so that in low or zero grip conditions it automatically brakes the troubled front wheel and transfers power to the other front wheel with better grip.
The 500L Trekking is available in a total of 17 colour combinations, with a choice of six different interior finishes. The 1.4 FIRE starts the range at £17,095 while the TwinAir Turbo is priced at £18,590. The 1.3 MultiJet is priced from £18,590, with the 1.6 MultiJet from £19,590. The 1.3 MultiJet with a five-speed Dualogic automatic gearbox is priced at £19,490.
