First-ever Bajaj CNG motorcycle to debut on 5 July

Bajaj Auto has set the stage to unveil its first-ever CNG-powered motorcycle in India. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, will be present for the inaugural ceremony. Notably, this will be the world's first production CNG bike and may be called the Bruzer. Reports suggest it is likely to be available in a couple of variants.

In terms of design, the Bajaj CNG motorcycle is expected to feature a modern-classic design, which is utilitarian and commuter-focused. As seen in the previous spy pictures, it could get a round LED headlamp, a single-piece flat seat, a plain fuel tank, and a small fly screen. What could be unique to this CNG-powered motorcycle is its chassis to accommodate a CNG tank.

Further, the motorcycle is expected to get a single-channel ABS, a part-digital console with CNG-specific readouts, telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, alloy wheels, a single disc at the front, and hazard light switch, among others.

Although the details about the engine are scarce, it is claimed that the Bajaj's upcoming CNG bike could get a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor mated to a five-speed gearbox. Meanwhile, the CNG-powered offering from Bajaj is anticipated to cost between Rs 85,000 and Rs 1.10 lakh.
