First sightings of the production-spec new KTM 390 Duke
The all-new KTM 390 Duke has been spotted for the first time without camouflage. As seen in the picture, it is a production-spec model with a new colour scheme, components, and design. Since the streetfighter appears ready to race in the streets, its launch could be just around the corner.
New KTM 390 Duke: DesignThe recently spotted all-new 390 Duke wore a new paint job âÂ" a combination of blue, grey, and orange. The alloy wheels, frame, and a few other components are finished in flashy orange, while the tank feature blue shade. Other parts appear to be in a grey shade.
Further, the new 390 Duke seems a sportier street naked with its angular body panels, step-up split seat, new headlamp, and sharp daytime running lights. The new and lighter alloy wheels could have been borrowed from the new RC 390. Meanwhile, the frame and swing arm are also reportedly new on the upcoming 390 Duke.
New KTM 390 Duke: Engine, power output, and gearbox
The 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is likely to be carried forward. But KTM has reportedly overhauled the engine to enhance its performance and power outputs. The on-sale 390 Duke makes 43.5PS and 37Nm of torque. We believe the upcoming motor to deliver slightly more outputs. Previous spy pictures showed the new engine casing, hinting that KTM may have increased displacement of the engine.
New KTM 390 Duke: Features and specificationsThe current streetfighter comes with a range of features and the new-gen model is likely to continue with them. Except for a new TFT colour display with Bluetooth connectivity, the new 390 Duke should get a ride-by-wire, quick shifter, dual-channel ABS, cornering ABS, a slipper clutch, traction control, and riding modes. Apart from that, it is expected to feature upgraded front and rear suspension, tweaked brakes, new switchgear, and a new exhaust system.
New KTM 390 Duke: Price and RivalsWe expect the new generation KTM 390 Duke to attract a higher premium over the current 390 Duke. It could come with a price tag of Rs 3.10-3.30 lakh compared to the on-sale model, which costs Rs 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, the all-new 390 Duke will take on the likes of the Honda CB300R and BMW G 310 R.
