Force Gurkha 5-door set to be launched in the coming months
Force Motors has published a teaser for the Gurkha 5-door ahead of the car's official launch which is slated for somewhere in the middle of 2024. The brand has been testing the Gurkha 5-door for a long time, with test mules seen around the nation in various pre-production phases. The Force Gurkha 5-door will compete with the eagerly awaited Mahindra Thar 5-door and will be based on the Gurkha 3-door, which is presently on sale.
The teaser shows the 4X4's side profile, which has old-school and boxy proportions, a look that has been getting very popular in the market with the Thar and Jimny. There's very little that could tell the 5-door apart from its smaller sibling, save for the addition of 2 extra doors.
Although, we do expect there to be a different grille as well as an updated front bumper. Even the alloy wheel size is set to be increased from the current 16-inch that is available don't the 3-door Gurkha.
Power is expected to come from the same 2.6-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine rated at 91PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be combined with a 5-speed manual transmission and obviously, 4x4 capabilities.
The cabin is expected to stay essentially the same, with perhaps a few minor modifications. Expect a decent second bench or captain chairs, and a useable boot room keeping in mind the 5-door will be about 400mm longer. Force Motors might add extra creature amenities to the 5-door variant, which is expected to be targeted at family shoppers.
The Force Gurkha 3-door is currently available at Rs 15.10 lakh in one single variant. Based on this, we expect its slightly larger sibling to be priced at about Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh more.
