Ford Endeavour Sport teased, launch on September 22
Ford India has put out a teaser image for its upcoming Ford Endeavour Sport. The Endeavor Sport is expected to be a keener-looking iteration of the Ford Endeavour SUV, pitched against the Toyota Fortuner TRD Limited Edition.
While the teaser image reveals some of the changes made here, Ford has already launched this Sports trim in other markets that the Endeavour is sold in. In line with what we have seen in those versions, we expect the India-spec Endeavour Sport to come with a black mesh front grille, black inserts on the front bumper, black accents on the rear bumper and tailgate and 20-inch dark-themed alloy wheels. On the inside, we expect unique Sport upholstery with contrasting blue stitching.
We do not expect to see any mechanical upgrades to the new Endeavour with this new version. The Endeavour is powered by the 2.0-litre Eco-Blue four-cylinder diesel engine with 172.3PS and 420Nm. This pairs with 10R80 10-speed torque-converter automatic. The ladder-frame SUV packs some serious off-roading equipment too like four-wheel drive, a transfer case, terrain management system and the Selecshift feature that can limit the number of gears the unit uses. The SUV also gets hill launch assist and hill descent control.
Conveniences available are the Sync 3 infotainment with 8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay, A panoramic sun-roof, covering up to 50 per cent of the roof, Semi-Auto Parallel Park Assist, push start button, hand-free power lift rear gate, and 8-way power-adjustable driver & front passenger seat.
Prices of the Endeavour start at Rs 29.99 lakh for the base Titanium 4x2 AT. This is a Rs 44,000 increase over the introductory Rs 29.55 lakh. The Endeavour Titanium Plus 4x2 AT is now priced at Rs 32.75 lakh while the Titanium Plus 4x2 AT comes in at Rs 34.45 lakh. We expect the Sport version to charge a roughly Rs 1 lakh premium on the variants it is available with.
