Ford Ranger spotted alongside new Endeavour in India
Ford re-entering India is quite possibly the next big thing for the Indian automotive market. Earlier we reported on a Ford Everest/Endeavour sighted on a flatbed truck in Chennai. It came out that there was another car behind it on a different flatbed truck, a Ford Ranger pickup truck. Does this mean that Ford will also be offering a pick up in India as well?
The Endeavour and Ranger have the same underpinnings. Both of these massive American vehicles are built on the same T6 ladder-on-frame chassis. While the Everest is over 5 meters long and designed as an SUV, the Ranger is around 5.4 meters long and designed as a midsize pickup truck.
In the worldwide market, the Ford Ranger comes with a variety of petrol and diesel engines. These include a 2.0-litre diesel, a 3.0-litre V6 diesel, and a 2.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. The lesser models come with either a 5-speed or 6-speed manual transmission, while the higher trims have a 10-speed automatic.
The prototype was fully uncamouflaged, with a large loading bay and a tailgate with vertical LED taillights. Other cosmetic features include 18/19-inch silver spoke alloy wheels with strong sidewalls, black cladding on the wheel arches and door sills, and a spare wheel positioned beneath the cargo tray.
The latest Ford Ranger had its global premiere in November 2021. If released in India, it might compete with vehicles such as the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu V-Cross.
