Gensol EV to make its debut in March 2024
Gensol Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (GEVPL), a subsidiary of Gensol Engineering Limited, has given a sneak peek of its first electric vehicle (EV) through a short teaser. The video teaser provides a glimpse of its exterior and interior, specifically designed for city travelling. That being said, the debut of the Gensol EV all-electric car will take place in March 2024. Meanwhile, the upcoming Gensol EV will be produced at the company's Chakan plant in Pune, India. This facility has a testing track and a vehicle testing facility. Gensol is also into a ride-hailing business with BluSmart, which is an EV-only raid-hailing service provider.
If the teaser is to go by, the upcoming Gensol EV is expected to be a quadricycle-style EV similar to the Citroen Ami sold in the European market or even the recently unveiled Fiat Topolino. However, it might not be as quirky as the two aforementioned vehicles. On a contrary, it will come with a moonroof. As seen in the teaser, the interior will boast modern technology, such as digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, and AI-based cloud analytics.
While the battery and electric motor specifications are unavailable at the moment, the Gensol EV claims to offer a range of 200km and a speed of 80kmph. We expect it to come with a 15-25kWh battery pack paired with a single motor.
Gensol EV: Price
The new two-door Gensol EV is likely to be available between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh. Currently, the MG Comet EV, which has been priced between Rs 7.98 lakh and Rs 10.63 lakh (both ex-showroom), is one of the most affordable EVs on sale in the market, followed by Tata Tiago EV.
