Harley-Davidson India stops selling SuperLow and Fat Boy Special models
Harley-Davidson India has stopped selling the SuperLow and Fat Boy Special models in India from the 2016 model year. While H-D India did not officially send out a communication in this regard, the two motorcycles are missing from the Sportster and Softail lines (respectively) on the Harley-Davidson India website.
Harley-Davidson's Sportster line in India for 2016 has two motorcycles, the new Iron 883Â and the refreshed Forty-Eight. As you know, for 2016, Harley-Davidson added the ability to adjust preload on the rear suspension of the Sportster line.
Harley-Davidson's Softail line has been a popular seller for the company in India. With the omission of the Fat Boy Special, the iconic Fat Boy, the Breakout and the refreshed Heritage Softail Classic are available.
Harley-Davidson India locally assembles all of the above motorcycles at its facility in Bawal in Haryana. Harley-Davidson India, when asked about the matter said,"Our focus is to cater to customers across segments. Every year Harley-Davidson India brings new motorcycles to the market depending on customer feedback. As part of our every model year launch, this year we introduced the new MY16 Street 750, Iron 883 and Forty-Eight. Keeping up with our customer's demands, we also brought back the Road King and redesigned the Heritage Softail Classic."
