Hero slashes prices of Vida V1 e-scooter; new prices start at Rs 1.19 lakh

After Ola Electric and Ather Energy, Hero MotoCorp has updated the prices of the Vida V1 electric scooter. Hero has reduced the price of the Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro by Rs 25,000 and Rs 20,000, respectively. As a result, the Vida V1 Plus now costs Rs 1,19,900, while the Vida V1 Pro is priced at Rs 1,39,900 (both ex-showroom, including FAME-2 subsidy and a portable charger). Both variants were previously available at Rs 1,45,000 (V1 Plus) and 1,59,900 (V1 Pro).

The aforementioned price revision is aimed at making the Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro more accessible to new customers, while accelerating transition to two-wheeler electric vehicles (EVs).

Along with the considerable price cut, Hero has stated that the prices of the Vida V1 line-up will vary depending on the availability of subsidy in different states. For reference, the Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro now cost Rs Rs. 99,900 and Rs. 1,19,900, respectively, in Gujarat.

Hero Vida Expansion Plans

While the most important announcement from Hero MotoCorp was the price revision of the Vida V1 range, it has also confirmed its plans to expand the network across India in order to boost sales. As a part of its plan, the brand aims to retail the Vida V1 electric scooter in 100 cities in phased-manner by the end of this year. Currently, Vida V1 is available in Delhi, Bangalore, and Jaipur. It is now setting up its dealerships in eight new cities, namely Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Calicut. Notably, Hero has already opened pre-bookings for the Vida V1 in the eight cities. With this, we expect the deliveries to start in the coming weeks.

Hero Vida Charging Stations

Alongside its network expansion plan, Hero also intends to expand the charging infrastructure of Vida. While it has about 300 charging points in Bangalore, Delhi, and Jaipur, Hero is now planning to install EV chargers in new cities.

Hero Vida V1 Pro: Specifications

The V1 Plus and V1 Pro come with two different battery packs: 3.44kWh and 3.94kWh with an IDC-certified range of 143km and 165km, respectively. An electric motor delivers a power output of 3.9kW, whereas its peak power is rated at 6kW. While the former is available in three colours: Matte Sports Red, Matte White, and Gloss Black, the V1 Pro comes with an additional Matte Abrax Orange paint job, too.
