Honda brings back CBR600RR, reveals new NX500, CB1000 Hornet, and more offerings at EICMA 2023

Honda has unveiled new motorcycles alongside MY2024 models at the ongoing EICMA 2023. It also introduced new Honda E-Clutch technology. The brand has also brought back the CBR600RR and showcased the 2024 CB500R, 2024 NX500 (formally CB500X), 2024 CB500 Hornet, 2024 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, 2024 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, 2024 CBR650R, 2024 CB650R, and the new 2024 CB1000 Hornet.

2024 Honda CBR600RR: Highlights

The supersport now features aggressive bodywork with aerodynamic winglets for improved stability. There is a central air inlet, split headlights, iconic under-seat exhaust, and a muscular fuel tank. It will be available in two colour schemes in the international markets.

The CBR600RR gets a colour TFT display, wheelie control, cornering ABS, nine-level traction control, Honda electronic steering damper, three ride modes plus two user modes, engine braking management, and six-axis IMU. Honda has equipped it with Showa upside down front forks, a rear pro-link mono shock, 310mm dual front disc brakes and a single 220mm rear disc brake. Notably, it comes powered by a 599cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine that produces 121PS at 14,250rpm and 63Nm of torque at 11,500rpm.

Honda NX500: Details

Honda also unveiled its middleweight adventure tourer, the NX500, at the EICMA 2023. The NX500 is essentially an overhauled CB500X, but with a new name, which means 'New x-over'. It now features a new design language and updated engine.

For starters, the NX500 gets a new face comprising a new LED headlight with integrated daytime running lights, and a large windscreen. There is also a new taillamp and angular fairing. Honda will offer the motorcycle in three shades: Grand Prix Red, Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic, and Pearl Horizon White.

The NX500 features a new five-inch display with smartphone connectivity, Honda Selectable Torque Control, Showa SFF-BP USD front forks, an updated rear monoshock, 296mm dual front disc brakes, and a 240mm rear single disc brake. The new wheels reduce the overall weight of the motorcycle by 3kg, totalling 196kg. Powering the NX500 is a 471cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine making 48PS and 43Nm of torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

Honda CB1000 Hornet: A new flagship streetfighter

Honda has revealed the new CB1000 Hornet powered by the tried and trusted 999cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine producing 150PS and 100Nm of torque. Plus, the bike maker has given it Downdraught air intake and 4-2-1 exhaust system. The streetfighter features an all-new steel twin spar frame, fully adjustable Showa SFF-BP front USD forks, a rear Pro-link mono shock, 310mm dual front disc brakes, throttle-by-wire, Honda Selectable Torque Control, three riding modes, a five-inch display with Bluetooth connectivity, and a slip-and-assist clutch.
