Honda Cars India recalls well over 90,000 units
Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has announced a nationwide recall for 92,672 vehicles to voluntarily replace a fuel pump. The brand said that it has expanded its previously announced campaign to replace fuel pump in 90,468 old units of its select models in India. In addition, the campaign will cover 2,204 units of old models which have undergone this part change earlier as a spare part.
It is learned that the fuel pumps installed in these vehicles may contain defective impellers, which could result in engine stopping or not starting. The replacement will be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India in a phased manner starting from 5th Nov 2024 and the owners are being contacted individually.
The potentially affected models are the Brio, City, WR-V, Amaze, BR-V, and Jazz. Honda has also recalled the models, including the Accord, BR-V, Jazz, Amaze, WR-V, Brio, City, and Civic, which received the fuel pump as a replacement spare part.
