Honda delivers 30000 units of the Amaze in India
Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has clocked a new sales milestone with the delivery of the 30,000th Amaze in India. The Amaze, Honda says, has been the fastest to get to 30,000 sales for any new model in the company's history in India. It is also noteworthy that the Amaze has the first diesel engine from the Japanese marque for the Indian market. The Ford which has caught buyers fancy big time in the meanwhile has already got nearly 5000 units on the Indian roads, barely two months after its launch.
Honda Amaze was launched in April 2013 at the price of Rs.4.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The overall growth in terms of sales, for HCIL, now stands at 65 percent for the period from April 2013 to July 2013.
To meet the growing demand and control waiting period for Honda Amaze, HCIL has announced that it will commence third shift of production at its Greater Noida plant from November 2013. "Honda Amaze has helped us to reach out to many new customers and bring them into Honda fold. Out of the total Amaze customer base, more than 80% are first time Honda buyers," said Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. VPâÂ" Marketing & Sales, HCIL.
The Amaze, a family car, was planned and executed after extensive surveys in India on customer's needs and requirements when it comes to design, packaging, cabin comfort, and fuel-efficiency. The competitive pricing is also as a result of localization of production of more than 90%. Honda has a strong sales and distribution network of 154 facilities in 98 cities and is further strengthening its after sales network in Tier II and III cities to 162 outlets in 102 cities during 2013 âÂ" 14.
The Amaze is available with either a 1.2-litre petrol or 1.5-litre diesel engines. 5-speed manual transmission is standard on both models but the petrol model has an optional 5-speed automatic.
