Honda Dio 125: Engine and Hardware

The new Honda Dio 125 is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled OBD2-compliant engine with eSP (Enhanced Smart Power). This engine also has a Honda ACG starter, better tumble flow, friction reduction, and enhanced combustion, as well as solenoid valves.

The 125cc engine is the same one used in the Grazia and Activa 125, and while Honda hasn't mentioned power and torque statistics, we assume the same 8.3PS and 10.4Nm of torque as the other two scooters.

The Dio 125 scooter now has Telescopic Suspension and a 12-inch front wheel (10-inch rear) for improved manoeuvrability and a smoother ride on difficult terrain.  It has a pretty decent 171mm of ground clearance as well. The braking system on the standard model is drum-type, however the Smart variation has a petal-type front disc brake.

Honda Dio 125: Design

Similar to the 110cc Honda Dio, the stylistic characteristics include a strong design. This has an apron-mounted headlamp and front turn indicators, a sleek body design, a split-style pillion grabrail, and a dual outlet exhaust with a heat shield. This look is enhanced with updated graphics and a prominent logo.

Meanwhile, there are seven colour options available: Pearl Siren Blue, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Pearl Night Star Black, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Matte Sangria Red Metallic, and Sports Red.

Honda Dio 125: Features

The Dio 125 has unique features such as a multi-function button for unlocking the seat and opening the external fuel cap, a fully digital meter, and an Idling Stop System & Sidestand Indicator with engine inhibitor. The talking point, however, remains the globally famous Honda Smart Key feature, which includes a variety of features such as Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Start, and Smart Safe.

The new Honda Dio 125 will compete against the Suzuki Avenis and the Yamaha RayZR 125 in the Indian market.
