Honda launches 2013 Dream Yuga with HET at Rs 45,101 ex-Delhi
After its new HET technology was introduced in its range of scooters and the Dream Neo, Honda has given its 110cc champion, the Dream Yuga a dose of the same. The 2013 Dream Yuga with HET retails for â¹à45,101 and claims to deliver a fuel efficiency of 74kmpl (up by 2kmpl from the 2012 version and the same as the Dream Neo). It is still available in three variants âÂ"àKick/Drums/Spoke, Kick/ Drum/Alloy and Self/ Drum/Alloy and in five colours. Honda says that they have so far sold three lakh Dream Yugas since the motorcycle went on sale last May. The top-end Yuga comes with tubeless tyres while a maintenance-free battery and viscous air filter are standard equipment. It remains to be seen if Honda will 'HETify' its other motorcycles like the Shine, Stunner, Unicorn and the recently launched Trigger.
Yadvinder S. Guleria, vice president âÂ" Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, "Dream Yuga has sold 3 lakh units within the first year of its launch. We have been deeply encouraged by the consumer response and are delighted to give additional value of superior HET technology to our customers at the same attractive price of â¹à45,101 (ex -Showroom Delhi). Dream Yuga at its attractive price is ideal for those who desire a robust, reliable, easy to maintain, highly fuel efficient yet stylish bike. We are confident that Dream Yuga with our revolutionary technology HET will create a new benchmark for mass mobility in India."
We've pitted the Dream Yuga in its previous avatar against a number of competitors, most recently against the Passion XPro, Pantero and the Discover 100T, and found that while it may not offer the style, added features or performance of some of its peers, it's a happy, refined motorcycle that readily does what's asked of it. If you need a reliable means of two-wheeled transportation that, as Shumi says, "fades into the background", then it's very likely that the 2013 Dream Yuga HET will be a good bet.
