Honda reveals the Civic Tourer ahead of its Frankfurt debut
Honda has revealed its Civic Tourer, to be officially be unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. This will be the production-spec version of the Tourer. This estate model of the five-door Civic hatch will play competition to rivals like the Hyundai i30 Tourer, Holden Cruze Sportwagon, Renault Megane Wagon, Ford Focus, Skoda Octavia and VW Golf in the European markets.
The Civic Tourer was developed in Europe specifically for European markets. It has two engine options; the new 1.6 i-DTEC engine from the Earth Dreams Technology series and the 1.8 i-VTEC engine in manual or automatic transmission. It also gets an Adaptive Damper System (ADS) will helps enhance stability and comfort under varying load and driving conditions. The ADS has three settings; comfort, normal and dynamic.
The Civic Tourer is big on space and practicality with a massive boot space of almost 625 litres. It also has Honda's popular 'magic seats', which allow the rear seat bases to fold up and expose a class-leading load floor of 1668 litres.
The new Civic Tourer will be launched in Europe in early 2014. It will be built at Honda's UK manufacturing facility in Swindon alongside the hatchback variant and the CR-V and Jazz.
