Honda UK gives the CR-V a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, available in October
At the start of the year, Honda had launched the new 1.6-liter i-DTECÂ engine on the Civic hatchback. Honda UK has now confirmed the diesel assembly on its newest CR-V range.
The CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC is available in two-wheel drive only and gets a 6-speed manual transmission. It churns out a maximum power of 120PS and peak torque of 300Nm. Honda claims the oil-burner delivers a fuel economy of 26.7kmpl and CO2 emissions of 119g/km. This gives the CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC eligibility for £0 road tax for the first year and £30 annual tax for the rest of the period, in the UK. The new CR-V also boasts of 1669 litres of luggage capacity.
The CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC starts at £22,800 OTR for the entry level S, which gets DAB Radio, dual zone climate control air conditioning, cruise control, electric adjustable and heated door mirrors, USB connectivity, steering wheel remote audio controls, 5-inch Intelligent Multi Info Display (i-MID), 17" alloys, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), driver seat power lumber support and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA).
The middle variant SE costs £24,660 OTR and gets front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera, Bluetooth Hands Free Telephone (HFT), CAT 1 alarm with ultrasonic sensor, leather steering wheel, leather gear shift, rain sensing auto wipers, dusk sensing auto lights and auto dim rear view mirror as add-ons.
The top-end SR costs £26,880 OTR. Features on the SR include Alcantara/leather upholstery, heated front seats, premium audio with subwoofer, painted roof rails, privacy glass, Bi-HID xenon headlights with auto leveling, active cornering lights, High Beam Support System (HSS), headlight washers, front fog lights, driver and passenger seat power lumber support and 18" alloy wheels.
It will be available in the UK dealerships in October. We expect the diesel CR-V to be available in India sometime in 2015.
