Hyundai Creta SX+ dual tone launch imminent in India
Hyundai has time and again been trying to refresh the Creta range. The hot selling SUV now gets a new trim - SX+ dual tone. The SX+ dual-tone variants will feature phantom black paint on the roof and pillars, while one can choose between polar white and red passion as body colour options. The 17-inch diamond-cut wheels, which were previously exclusive to the SX+ automatic variants will now feature on the SX+ dual tone as well. Pricing for the SX+ dual tone variant of the Hyundai Creta has surfaced online through brochure scans. The 1.6-litre petrol powered, manual gearbox variant has been priced at Rs 12.33 lakh and the 1.6-litre diesel powered, manual gearbox variant is priced at Rs 13.88 lakh, both prices ex-showroom, Delhi. The dual tone trims are priced Rs 38,047 more than the SX+ variant.
The dual-tone colour scheme continues on the inside of the Creta too, with red and black upholstery on the seat complementing the all-black interior scheme. This interior colour combination will be exclusive to the Creta SX+ dual-tone as all other variants feature beige and black interior.
The SX+ dual-tone also gets additional equipment with more features added to the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The system already featured navigation and now gets Arkamys Sound Mood, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror link as standard. These features, we believe will become standard across the Hyundai India range.
The SX+ dual-tone features only aesthetic changes and still uses the same mechanicals. The petrol variant is powered by a 1,591cc, naturally aspirated petrol motor with an output of 121PS and 154Nm. The diesel variant is powered by a 1,582cc, turbocharged diesel engine putting out 126PS and 260Nm. Both variants are driven by 6-speed manual gearboxes. The automatic gearbox-driven variants and the 1.4-litre diesel powered variants will not be available in the dual-tone spec.
Hyundai had previously launched an anniversary special edition Creta, which sported a dual-tone paint job as well and was received well by its customers. The extra colours do away with the plain jane looks and usually help increase sales figures. The facelifted Hyundai Creta is set to be launched this year, and this dual-tone edition might just boost sales for the Korean company before the new one comes along.
