Hyundai India reveal the new i20 N-Line
Hyundai India has finally unveiled the new i20 N-Line and has now started accepting pre-orders as well. Customers can reserve their i20 N-Line for just Rs 25,000 at their nearest Hyundai signature dealership or even on the Hyundai website.
The new i20 N-Line is a souped-up version of the existing i20. It comes with a dozen of sporty design upgrades to make it N-Line worthy. The most noticeable is the completely blacked-out front grille with an N-line badging on it. At the bottom, it's quite impossible to miss the new bumper with bright red accents. The red accents are carried over to the side skirts as well and they highlight those 16-inch alloy wheels quite perfectly. Over to the back, Hyundai has given the i20 N-Line twin-pipped exhausts with a sporty exhaust note as well.
The i20 N-Line won't face any competition as of now because it is a distinct line of model branding rather than a variation of a normal model. In India, Hyundai intends to launch at least one such model every year.
The N-line won't witness any changes under the bonnet. It will feature the already powerful 1-litre turbo GDI petrol engine that generates a peak power of 120PS and 172 Nm of torque. The only mechanical Hyundai claims to have worked on the i20 N-Line is a re-tuned suspension with 30 percent more damping for a stiffer and engaging drive.
Hyundai offers a 6-speed IMT or a 7-speed DCT on the i20 N-Line. Paddle shifters are included on the 7-speed version. Hyundai won't offer a regular manual transmission on the i20 N-Line which isn't the best news to hear. The i20 N-Line is expected to return 20 kmpl though.
The new i20 N-Line does feature disc brakes across all four wheels. Some of the standard features on the i20 N-Line include electronic stability control, hill assist control, vehicle stability management, six airbags, auto headlights, emergency stop signal, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Some of the car's creature amenities include a wireless charger with a cooling pad, smart entry with push start/stop button, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, cruise control, rear AC vents, and glovebox cooling.
There are plenty of N-Line badging across the cabin do really bring alive the sporty image of the i20 N-Line.
The i20-N-Line will go on sale next month but as of now, it can only be pre-booked at Rs 25,000. How much the car is expected to cost is only something the future holds as Hyundai hasn't been revealed any numbers yet.
