Hyundai Ioniq 5 bookings will open from December 20
Hyundai will introduce the Hyundai Ioniq 5 in India during the January 2023 Auto Expo. The automaker has said that reservations for India's next flagship model will formally open on December 20, 2022. The Kia EV6 is already on sale in India, and its sister vehicle is the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Hyundai will domestically construct the Ioniq 5 in contrast to the Kia EV6, which is entirely imported.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be built on the same E-GMP platform as the Kia EV6 and have amenities including a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch alloy wheels with a "parametric pixel pattern," a range of 412 km, and eco-friendly interior materials.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 will include false front and rear skid plates, flush-fitting door handles, a set of LED tail lights with pixelated designs, an integrated spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, and LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs.
Hyundai offers the Ioniq 5 in two battery pack versions, AWD and rear-wheel drive, in the international market: 58kWh and 72.6kWh. In rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, the smaller battery generates 170PS; in both configurations, the bigger battery generates 217PSÂ and 305PS.
The bigger battery extends the range to a claimed 481km, while the smaller battery pack is suitable for 383km in the official test cycle (WLTP cycle).
The Hyundai Ioniq 5's interiors may include a floating centre console, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a wide console on the dashboard with one screen each for the instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system, and an engine start-stop button.
