Hyundai Ioniq 5 receives over 650 bookings; deliveries to start in March
Hyundai launched the all-new Ioniq 5 in India at the Auto Expo 2023 and it has now announced that the deliveries of the EV will commence in March this year. The carmaker also revealed that the Ioniq 5 has received over 650 reservations. Notably, the electric crossover was launched at Rs 44.95 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). Its introductory pricing was exclusively applicable to the first 500 customers.
Hyundai Ioniq 5: Range, Battery, and Charging
The Ioniq 5 is powered by a 72.6kWh battery pack linked to a rear-axle mounted electric motor that delivers 217PS and 350Nm. It promises an ARAI-certified range of 631km. The Ioniq 5 uses advanced 800V architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging capability. With this, it can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes when plugged into a 350kW DC charger.

The Ioniq 5 is the first dedicated EV from the South Korean auto major to utilise the E-GMP EV-only platform. The exterior design of the Ioniq 5 draws inspiration from the Pony - the Hyundai's first-ever mass-market car. It features parametric pixel headlights, quad daytime driving lights, square-shaped rear lights, flush-style door handles, and aero alloy wheels.
On the inside, the Hyundai used sustainable materials for the upholstery and carpet. There is also a single panel that comprises a 12.25-inch driver display and a 12.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the highlights of the cabin are the movable centre console and flexible seats.

Hyundai has bestowed the Ioniq 5 with a host of features, such as an eight-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone temperature control, hands-free tailgate, 360-degree camera, seven airbags, BlueLink connected car features, Vehicle-2-Load (V2L), and heads-up display with augmented reality function, among others. In addition, it also comes with Level 2 autonomy.
