Hyundai Ioniq 5 unveiled in India
Hyundai Motors India has finally debuted the long-coming Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the country. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is built on the same E-GMP platform as the Kia EV6 and bookings for the car are now underway.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 includes false front and rear skid plates, flush-fitting door handles, a set of LED tail lights with pixelated designs, an integrated spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, and LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs.
Hyundai offers the Ioniq 5 in two battery pack versions, AWD and rear-wheel drive: 58kWh and 77.4kWh. In rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, the smaller battery generates 170PS; in both configurations, the bigger battery generates 324PS.
The smaller battery returns a range of 354km while the bigger one in all-wheel drive has a range of 428km and 487km in rear-wheel drive.
The modern and minimalist cabin of the Ioniq 5 features two displays - a 12.25-inch driver information screen and a 12.25-inch infotainment touchscreen system. Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, a sliding centre console, a two-spoke steering wheel, and electrically adjustable front seats with lumbar support and a relaxation function are all standard on the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Expect the pricing of the Ioniq 5 to be somewhat lower than that of its distant sister, the Kia EV6, as the automaker will domestically construct the model here in India.
