Hyundai Motors India confirm the launch of a new mini SUV in 2023
Hyundai has officially stated that an all-new SUV would be introduced in the Indian market shortly. While the automaker refused to provide any specifics, this vehicle might be the Ai3 compact SUV, which will compete with the Tata Punch in India. The new car will sit below the existing Hyundai Venue and in turn, will become the new entry-level into the Hyundai SUV portfolio.
The size will be quite similar to the Hyundai Casper marketed in South Korea, while the design of the India-spec Ai3 will be much different. A test mule of the model was spotted testing on Indian soil for the first time last month, implying that its entry into the Indian market is imminent.
Earlier sightings, have provided us with a glimpse of how the mini SUV would seem. It is anticipated to share design elements with the Venue, particularly on the outside. The H-shaped LED DRL, which relates to "Hyundai," will be one distinguishing feature. Roof rails, two-tone alloy wheels, and LED illumination are anticipated to be standard features.
We anticipate it will use the same 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 83PS and 114Nm as the Grand i10 Nios, as well as the same five-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission choices. A CNG option may be considered after the car has made its official launch.
Hyundai's all-new SUV's interiors might have a dual-tone interior theme, a sleek front armrest, cup holders on the centre console, a 50:50 split function for the second-row seats, and brushed aluminium accents. Several airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and a reversing camera are likely to provide safety.
The new SUV from Hyundai should go on sale in August and apart from the Punch it will also take on the Citroen C3.
